Steve Burghley; has a 40-year sentence for murder
While getting gas at a Lafayette gas station on Simco, a crack addict on a bicycle rode up to Steve's mini-truck and tried to snatch the dollar bills from Steve's hand. As Steve drove off to defend himself, the crack addict hung on the door and allowed himself to be dragged. Steve reached into his side compartment and withdrew his registered .9mm pistol, and killed the crack addict so as to evade the robbery attempt.
Steve is a former U.S. Marine who worked at a machine shop. He has all his family's support and is thought of well by other prisoners. He was normal at the beginning of his detainment. However, after he was given a 40-year prison sentence, he began to tremble and convulse daily and pray aloud. Every week he buys a large commissary and gives it away to other prisoners with the magazines he subscribes to because he feels it will help his soul to give to others.
Please pray for Steve Burghley and his family; they are originally named Ducante and are Cajun. If you can help Steve, please send us an e-mail.
